KNLA
The Karen people have been fighting the Burmese military dictatorship
for their democratic rights for more than 50 years. They've seen
their villages bombed, their rice fields mined, their young women
raped and families forced to flee across the Thai border into
refugee camps. Their only protection, the Karen National Liberation
Army (KNLA), is vastly outnumbered and with meagre resources is
no longer able to fight the Burmese Army head-to-head.
