The Democratic Karen Buddhist Army (DKBA) is a splinter group which separated from the Karen National Union (KNU) in 1994 and agreed upon a separate peace treaty with the military government of Burma (Myanmar), the State Peace and Development Council (SPDC). Since that time the DKBA on the side of the SPDC has been engaged in sparodic fighting with the Karen resistance of the KNU.
